About us
Sorrento Folk is a group of friends who share one passion: the tarantella sorrentina, the traditional folk dance of Sorrento. Since 2011 we have been bringing it to the stage with its traditional steps, music and costumes, to share it with everyone who visits Sorrento and to hand it down to those who will come after us.
An idea rootedin childhood
The group grew out of an idea by Francesco Di Fiore, who has danced the tarantella since he was a child. After years of learning from true masters of dance and of life, such as Salvatore Converso, Antonino Ambrosino and Francesco Saverio Apreda, he decided to pass this passion on to the younger generations, with dedication and patience.
He was joined by young women and men who share the same love for tradition. Our aim is a single one: to promote the culture of the Sorrento Peninsula in all its many facets.
Ten couples,one family
The group is made up of about ten couples of dancers: friends bound by a shared passion and countless adventures. Every show, every evening, every wedding strengthens a bond that goes far beyond work.
Today the association's contact person is Daniela Esposito: she is the one who answers your enquiries and shapes the show together with you.

On the folklore stage
We work with Sorrento's international folklore festival and perform in squares, theatres, hotels and villas along the Amalfi Coast. Always in the same spirit: to share the true tarantella sorrentina and get everyone watching up and dancing.
